Arrive, breathe, discover Murrumbateman
With Valentine's Day 2026 falling on a Saturday, what better excuse to pack an overnight bag, and take the easy drive down the highway to beautiful Murrumbateman, just 30 minutes from the CBD.
Leave the week behind as you swap traffic lights for vineyard views and pretty late-summer sunsets.
There’s nothing quite like arriving in the region and starting with something simple and beautiful. A yoga class at Gumtree Wellness will get you moving and help you ease into a state of weekend bliss. From here, you can stop by Two Before Ten and Clementine Bakery for a delightful coffee and pastry. Don't forget to visit Thyme To Taste Emporium for a selection of local wines and providore treats.
A visit to our Sweet Pea & Poppy chocolate studio should definitely be on the list! You can get hands-on with a chocolate workshop or simply choose a selection of handmade chocolates (maybe a box to share tonight, and a little extra to enjoy on Sunday).
Handcrafted in small batches with quality and care, our chocolates are designed for sharing, savouring, and exploring the flavours of our region through our local produce infused chocolate range.

Long lunch at Poachers Pantry
This is my favourite kind of Saturday.
Enjoy a relaxed long lunch at Poachers Pantry, where seasonal produce meets cool-climate wine and wide, soft views across the beautiful gardens. There’s no hurry here, just time to savour flavours and conversation. You might also like to check out their new Sunday Lunch offering!
Unpack and unwind
After lunch, head to Devine 2582 for gorgeous accommodation with vineyard views! You can enjoy one of the nearby wineries for a meet the maker style tasting. Make the most of your peaceful views
Live music and dinner
For the most fun night out, head to Tallagandra Hill Winery for one of their special weekend concerts. If you're going on Valentine's Day, you'll be treated to An Evening with David Campbell, offering a soulful, cabaret-style performance. This is the kind of live music experience that feels like a date in its own right.
With a glass of estate wine in hand and a dinner enjoyed alongside the performance, it’s one of those evenings that feels unforgettable without effort.
Sunday morning in Murrumbateman
After yesterday’s indulgence, Sunday morning feels like a moment to reset and reconnect.
From here, I’d enjoy those rolling views from the deck before making my way to Blackwattle Alpaca Farm for Brunch with the Bunch. Meeting alpacas in the morning light and enjoying a relaxed farm-style brunch of eggs, bacon, and conversation. The perfect, joyful finish to end a slow weekend!
